• Map-making

I’ve always been a huge fan of drawing fantasy maps, inventing worlds and languages. I think this might have been one of the biggest reasons I was drawn to writing in the first place. I’ll make a separate entry (or several) regarding the con langs, but I thought I’d share the map of my novel, The New World, here. The map is also available in the book.

Just showing the map here makes me realize how much I love drawing maps. I should start doing it again – it comes and goes in waves, like most of my hobbies.

  • The art of social media

It has become abundantly clear in the past couple of weeks that authors, especially indie authors, must have social media presence. I’m not entirely sure how that’s supposed to work, really, since there’s just sooooo much digital noise out there already. If any authors happen to read this, please share your experiences! Meanwhile, I’ll just post some random content on my newly created Instagram account.

    Help!

  • Free e-book this weekend

This Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9th, the e-book version of The New World will be available for free on Amazon Kindle. Check it out!

I will do free promotions from time to time, but Amazon doesn’t actually allow you to do more than 5 days per KDP Select period (which is 90 days, I believe).

Anyway, if you have Kindle Unlimited, it’s always for free to you!

  • My first blog-post

I’ve finally set up a site for my books. I’m so excited!

My plan is to add blog entries about book deals, writing, new work, etc.
